If you are a regular reader of my blog, you have probably heard me mention my bestie, Lynne, also known as Lynney Lou. My dad gave her that name way back when, and it just stuck. Today is a special day because it’s Lynne’s birthday!
Lynne and I met in 6th grade and bonded at Take Your Daughter To Work Day at Auburn Career Center, and we have been friends ever since. We have been through a lot together – walleye fishing, cheerleading tryouts, a brief stint as softball players, crazy boyfriends, marriages, divorce, and lots of children to name a few. While other friends have come and gone for one reason or another, her friendship has remained a constant force in my life, and for that, I am so grateful.
We don’t get a chance to talk or see each other as much as we like. With Lynne in Baltimore, that makes it a little difficult. Throw in some kids, work, and just life in general, and it gets hard to send a few texts back and forth, let alone get a phone date. But, you know what? That is completely fine because when we do finally catch up, it’s like nothing has even changed.
Happy Birthday, Lynney Lou! I hope you have a fabulous birthday, and although I can’t be there to celebrate with you, know that I love you and am thinking of you. All people should be as lucky as I am to have a friend like you.
And, no matter what, you will always be the Michele to my Romy ❤
